BOOM! First post, baby! This is pretty exciting. It seems like only yesterday we were chillin' in what is now FauxTrack headquarters (the locker room showers) brainstorming about what this would eventually become. And now three weeks later, after a few more board meetings and hours of web programming, we're finally here.
So what is FauxTrack? The truth is, we're not 100% sure yet. I'd broadly describe it as a "light-hearted running blog." But what does that even mean? Our main focus is not necessarily track itself but the culture that surrounds it--the non-running side of running. At the same time, we're runners and get excited about people running fast times and whatnot, so we'll cover that too. As runners, we're just different people than the rest of 'em and this world that we're in, both on and off the track, is an interesting place.
Team Faux is comprised of a handful of college runners, a few still competing and the others are washed up. Although we're currently all on the east coast we come from all over the country. We all gotz a different flava. Therefore, here at Faux you're gonna get a random sampling from various aspects of the track world and our lives. We're going to do some combination of giving opinions on interesting/relevant track news, poking fun at people like LaShawn Merritt for taking ExtenZe, and talking about sweet races.
We're also going to post videos of stuff. What kind of stuff, you might ask? Perhaps funny interviews, a race here or there, heck maybe even get live feeds of some sweet meets. We'll also probably just make stupid videos that have nothing to do with track and post those too, but whatever. The truth is, there's really no telling what's gonna be going on at FauxTrack, we'll all just have to wait and see.
